WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are actively seeking a Delivery Operations Manager with a management consulting background to strengthen and scale our delivery execution across client engagements. The ideal candidate will be able to create leverage for Delivery Leadership and Sales by managing consultant performance, improving delivery consistency, and driving operational rigor across engagements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to our Head of Delivery, as a Full-Time Specialist on our team, you will work onsite 4 days a week from our Main Digital HQ office in Tysons Corner. You will ensure our consultants deliver high-quality work aligned to engagement objectives, proactively manage communication and risks, support and activate delivery methodology across our portfolio of projects. You will serve as a critical connector across all facets of the business including sales, delivery, operations and talent management, ensuring service delivery excellence and consistent client success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • 7+ years of total professional experience, with 5+ years in consulting, delivery operations, PMO, or multi-project support roles within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of consulting engagement fundamentals (scope, communications cadences, risks/issues, SOW structure, deliverable quality).
  • Experience supporting multiple engagements simultaneously and coordinating across delivery, sales, and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform consultant performance oversight, including touchpoints, quality reviews, and early-issue escalation.
  • Experience with proposal coordination, assembling inputs, preparing materials, and supporting early-stage pursuit conversations.
  • Familiarity with delivery frameworks used in digital transformation (e.g., Agile Scrum/Kanban, design thinking, process improvement, data and platform lifecycle).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and standard collaboration/project tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with consultants, leaders, and clients.
  • Experience in a Delivery Excellence, PMO, Engagement Support, or Delivery Ops role in a consulting firm is preferred.
  • Knowledge of resource planning and utilization management processes is preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMP, or Prosci are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivery Execution & Quality Oversight

  • Oversee delivery execution proficiency for consultants, ensuring quality work, consistent communication, risk identification, mitigation and escalation, and alignment to engagement objectives.
  • Execute performance management for consultants including setting and managing performance expectations, consultant care touchpoints, quality checks, and early-issue escalation.
  • Support engagement setup, transitions, onboarding, and expectations alignment to ensure successful project delivery.

Redeployment & Workforce Planning

  • Support workforce and resource planning by assessing current project needs, upcoming demand, consultant skill sets, and availability to strategically place talent across engagements, optimize utilization, and maintain delivery continuity.
  • Manage redeployment to optimize utilization and maintain continuity across engagements.

Delivery Risk & Client Health Monitoring

  • Maintain an at-risk engagement log, track delivery health indicators, and escalate issues early.
  • Conduct light client feedback loops to surface delivery insights, understand emerging client needs for Delivery & Sales Leadership.
  • Sales & Business Development Support
  • Participate in early-stage sales conversations to clarify delivery needs, identify risks, and align proposed approaches with Main Digital’s delivery standards.
  • Support capture of engagement outcomes, artifacts, and success metrics for use in proposals, case studies, and internal enablement.

Delivery Enablement & Methodology Activation

  • Partner with Delivery Leadership to activate and reinforce delivery methodology, including playbooks, governance models, templates, and best practices across engagements.
  • Organize and manage materials within internal collaboration sites, including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
