Position Summary

CCI Group is seeking qualified K-12 Educational Sign Language Interpreters to support students within Lake County Schools . This role focuses on providing communication access services in alignment with each student’s IEP, 504 Plan, or documented educational needs , allowing students to engage fully in classroom instruction and school activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional sign language interpreting and communication access services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in K-12 settings
  • Support communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff
  • Work across instructional environments including classrooms, assemblies, small-group instruction, and school events
  • Follow school schedules, district policies, and educational protocols
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other approved communication methods as required by the student
  • Experience in K-12 educational settings strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with classroom terminology and school environments
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work on-site during school hours

Preferred Credentials (district-dependent)

  • State or national interpreting certification
  • Educational interpreting credential or assessment
  • Prior experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
