Travel Perfusionist – Contract Opportunity (Hartford, Connecticut)
Are you an experienced Perfusionist looking for an exciting travel assignment in Connecticut? We’re seeking a skilled professional to join a dedicated cardiac team providing advanced perfusion support across a variety of clinical settings.
Position Details
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Shift: 8-hour PM shifts with rotating call (including weekends and holidays)
- Call Requirement: 30-minute response time; 24-hour call shifts (0600–0600)
- Rotation: 13-person schedule including morning, afternoon, and call shifts
- Contract Length: 92 weeks
Compensation
- Travel Pay Package: $5,100–$5,300 per week (hourly rate plus stipends)
- Local Pay Rate: $95–$110/hour (no travel stipends)
Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a licensed Perfusionist
- Current State of Connecticut Perfusion License
- ABCP Certification
- BLS Certification
Responsibilities
- Provide perfusion support for elective and emergent adult open-heart procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic repairs, AngioVac, heart transplants, ECMO, and acute VADs
- Support non-cardiac procedures such as liver transplants, HIPEC, ECMO (VV), and autologous blood recovery
- Manage cardiac support devices including IABP, Impella (CP, 5.5, RP Flex), ProTek Duo, ECMO (VA), CentriMag, and HeartMate 3
- Safely operate heart/lung machines and accessory equipment in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Administer medications, blood products, and anesthetic agents under physician supervision
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, documentation, and therapy adjustments
- Maintain proficiency with accessory equipment and participate in policy development, quality improvement, and staff education initiatives
