Summary
Connect Search is hiring a Production Manager in Jefferson County, WI.
Responsibilities
- Synchronize efforts between manufacturing, scheduling, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality and CNC programming.
- Provide leadership to Supervisors to ensure we a cross-trained workforce that can be ramped up or down.
- Lead continuous improvement activities regarding safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory and preventive maintenance by using all lean tools: One-piece flow, standard work, mistake-proofing, setup reduction, 5S, visual management, problem solving, empowerment, value stream mapping, kaizen, etc.
- Responsible for profit and loss, which includes labor variances, material variances, factory burden, overtime, annual budgeting and capital expenditures.
- Function as Safety and Culture champion.
- Represent the department in new product development to ensure successful introductions using design for manufacturability, standardization and simplification and lean manufacturing tools.
- Work with the Director of Manufacturing and Production Supervisors to determine proper staffing and evaluate personnel.
- Monitor daily operational objectives which include safety, quality, delivery productivity and inventory requirements, while ensuring production volumes meet customer needs.
- Work with Manufacturing, Engineering and Maintenance resources to ensure the proper maintenance, equipment upgrades and process changes are accomplished.
- Implement process improvements that meet Company and customer satisfaction requirements, both from a quality and productivity standard.
- Coach Production Supervisors and champion a zero injury culture.
- Review daily, weekly and monthly productivity, financial, safety and quality reports.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field preferred.
- 5+ years related experience in supervisory or technical role.
- Proven leadership skills in motivating and developing a workforce.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001.
