Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager

Onsite Columbus, Ohio

Role Overview

This is a senior-level hybrid Business Analyst + Project Manager role supporting a major legacy-system modernization initiative. You ll lead requirements discovery, reverse-engineer undocumented workflows, manage multi-phase project plans, and partner closely with development teams building new modern applications. Perfect for someone who enjoys both analytical BA work and PM execution responsibilities.

Must-Have Skills

• 5 7+ years of industry experience
• BA/BS degree (required)
• Strong experience performing both Business Analyst and Project Manager duties
• Hands-on requirements gathering , stakeholder interviews, and documentation for system modernization
• Experience supporting multi-phase technology projects and managing timelines with MS Project
• Ability to create process flows and documentation using Visio and SharePoint
• Experience collaborating with development teams (Java or similar) to clarify requirements, track progress, and remove blockers
• Ability to prepare detailed project status reports and executive-level summaries
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and confirming system behavior
• Ability to reverse-engineer and summarize logic from legacy code (COBOL experience ideal)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with business users to understand how legacy applications are used
• Analyze and interpret undocumented legacy code to extract business logic
• Develop clear, detailed functional requirements for new application development
• Create workflow diagrams, functional specs, and documentation using Visio/SharePoint
• Maintain and revise detailed project plans in MS Project
• Facilitate meetings and gather development updates, blockers, and risks
• Track deliverables, maintain accurate timelines, and escalate issues when necessary
• Maintain organized repositories of requirements, process documents, and reference materials
• Prepare weekly status updates and concise summaries for leadership
• Ensure alignment between requirements, development, testing, and business partners

• Cannot work 100% onsite in Columbus, OH
• Have no experience supporting both BA and PM responsibilities
• Lack hands-on experience with system modernization or legacy translation work
